Situated in the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside, some three miles from the town of Market Rasen, Hill House offers warm, comfortable and safe accommodation for up to twenty-three adults of all ages, who have been assessed as having learning difficulties. Located in our grounds and complementing the main house are two three-bedroom detached houses that are available for supported living.
We offer permanent care placements as well as being available for respite stays and day care facilities. All the home’s bedrooms are individually decorated and we encourage all residents to personalise them with their own mementos and possessions. The home has large and airy communal areas where residents can interact with each other, make friends and experience the positive benefits of group living. Externally the home has large attractive grounds, giving our residents plenty of space to enjoy. There is a large patio area where many residents get together for conversation and shared activities in warmer weather. Hill House’s rural location also provides a calming environment and excellent access to serene woodland walks.
We want all our residents to lead an active life. To help achieve this we encourage and support them to develop their social skills, and help them to achieve personal goals. Everyone is different, and this is reflected by the individual care plans that we develop for each resident. We also involve families in all aspects of someone’s care and encourage close contact with relatives and friends; this often results in our staff developing close and lasting relationships with family members. We offer a very high standard of care for everyone, delivered by an experienced and committed team, who do everything they can to make our resident’s lives as rich and fulfilling as possible.
An important part of life at the home is the wide range of daily activities that take place. In designing our activity programme we try to ensure that it reflects our resident’s interests, likes and dislikes. There are many home-based activities as well as regular trips out - the home is equipped with its own wheelchair accessible minibus which gives service users the freedom to frequently integrate with the local community. We are also very fortunate to have the Horse World Equestrian Centre next door to the home, which means our residents can enjoy the unique experience of caring for and riding horses.
Meal times are an important social occasion within the home, and all meals are prepared on site by an experienced chef who has developed a nutritious and well balanced menu offering an abundance of meal choices. No matter what a resident’s tastes are there is bound to be something on the menu that they will enjoy. We can also cater for specific dietary requirements, should a resident be vegetarian, have allergies or specialist dietary needs.
Hill House offers a unique environment, supported by dedicated staff. We want all our residents and families to feel safe, happy and secure in the knowledge that they have a warm and welcoming home that will do everything it can for them to make the most out of life.
